History of JaKay's

Our humble beginning emerged in 1996 at Plum Ridge Plaza. We originally offered hair services only but quickly introduced nail services in our humble quarters.

The immediate goal was to keep our clients happy, the bills paid, and our bodies fed. Our clients made sure we were able to so....and more. We managed to build a small stable business and in 2001 blossomed to a larger location as a Day Spa in the Mignogna Building.

Along the way, I obtained a business degree and explored other ventures. None of this would have been possible without an extremely competent staff - so competent in fact, that in 2007, after feedback from the staff, I decided it was time for a life change.

 

In 2008 Lori McGuire purchased the salon. Lori has been my Rock and was present since the conception of JaKay's. She actually named the salon in 1996 and now, she has the priviledge of nurturing it further. I gave Lori a list of important phone numbers and at the end of the list in red text I included a number "In Case of Emergency". That phone number belongs to my parents because my mother and father have been the root of support and wisdom throughout this adventure. They live on a farm where I was raised in Frogtown, Pennsylvania. They taught me sound principles of nature and life. I use these principles as my guide and believe they are an important factor in the existence of JaKay's.
